This is our second year making this fabulously hot cocktail for our Maharani Christmas Markets at the distillery and we want to share the recipe with you!

This recipe was created by one of our founders Bhagya inspired by her home, Kerala India and her daily chai.



35ml Maharani Gin
2 cups of water
4 Cardamon pods
1 Cinnamon or Cassia Stick
1 Bay Leave
A few drops of lime
Tealeaves or Opened Tea Bags Brown Sugar or Honey to taste


Grind spices together in a pestle and mortar. Bring the cardamon, cinnamon or cassia and the bay leave to the boil in the water. Add 1 teaspoon of tea leaves or open a tea bag and add the powder. Simmer for 30/45 seconds. Drain the mixture through a sieve. Add brown sugar or honey to taste and a squeeze of lime. Add Maharani Gin & Enjoy.

PS Also tastes lovely as a non-alcoholic option.
